Samuel Tanzer, b. 1832, Long Eaton, Derbyshire (christened 19 Feb 1832) married Anne Wilson on 23 Mar 1852 in Long Eaton, Derbyshire.

They had the following children:

• William, b. 1853, Long Eaton, Derbyshire, d. USA
• Frances, b. 1855, Long Eaton, Derbyshire (christened 10 Jun 1855)
• Samuel, b. 1857, Long Eaton, Derbyshire (christened 10 Apr 1857)
• George Wilson, b. 1864, Long Eaton, Derbyshire (christened 20 Dec 1863), d. 1887 Long Eaton, Derbyshire

In 1881 the family are recorded in the census as living on New Street, Long Eaton, Derbyshire with their servant Martha Gibbons (aged 15 from Suffolk).  The family are all involved in lace manufacturing.  Samuel's occupation is recorded as Lace Manufacturer, William a Lace Maker, Francis a Lace Mender and George a Lace Packer.

Samuel died in 1899, aged 67 years.

William emigrated to the USA in 1894 sailing to New York.
