James Bassett, General Labourer, was born in South Kilworth in 1834.  James married Jane Hughes (b. c1830, St Asaph, Wales) in 1856 in St Asaph.

At the time of the 1881 Census James and Ann were visiting Alfred and Elizabeth Middleton with Herbert Bassett (b. 1873 Brownsover, Warwickshire) at Victoria Street, Bilton, Warwicks.
